Talent Acquisition
Fostering space for belonging from day one brings the best and the brightest to NRG. Our policies, including our Employee and Contractor policy, are inclusive, and we mitigate unconscious biases in the hiring process by removing details from resumes that allude to a candidate’s gender identity, race, religion, or socioeconomic background. In addition, we have revised corporate policies to eliminate degree requirements where appropriate. Access to education and transitioning into the workforce is a hurdle many of the best talent faces today. NRG’s programs help provide scholarships, training, and hands-on learning to the next generation.
Pay equity
Equitable compensation and access to growth is an important part of employee satisfaction. In 2020, we completed our first gender and race pay equity study to ensure our employees are compensated for their contributions and not based on gender, race, or other similar factors. The study showed equitable pay practices after accounting for education, experience, performance, and location.
Training & Development
Every person at NRG is accountable for building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace. NRG’s robust online training curriculum covers topics from leadership and communication to being antiracist and ensuring all voices are heard. All employees are provided tools to promote equity in their individual roles—this includes unconscious bias training, DEI e-learning series, and a “leading inclusion” training.
