California’s need for reliable and affordable energy is growing. To meet this demand, NRG’s Long Beach Generating Station is back online and providing up to 260 megawatts (MW) of gas-fueled generating capacity — enough energy to support approximately 208,000 homes. Dormant since the end 2004, the plant was repowered to provide immediate, critical support to the Southern California power grid, especially during times of peak demand. Long Beach is the first RepoweringNRG project to go from contract to construction to completion. |
